Barcelona

Travel Guide

Barcelona has transformed a lot in the the past few years to become one of the most stylish and lively cities of the world.Summer is serious party time, but year-round the city sizzles - it's always on the biting edge of architecture, food, fashion, style, music and good times.
Spring and early summer is the best time to be in the city. The weather is usually pleasant, the number of tourists manageable and the city humming.

Rambles (Les)

Nearest Train: Catalunya / Liceu / Drassanes

The name La Rambla means, in Spanish and Catalan, an intermittent water flow, and is derived from the Arabic 'Ramla' which means 'sandy riverbed'.

Les Ramblas begins at the Plaça Portal de la Pau, with its 49m-high (161-ft.) monument to Columbus, opposite the port and stretches north to the Plaça de Catalunya. Along this wide promenade you'll find newsstands, stalls selling birds and flowers, portrait painters, and cafe tables and chairs, where you can sit and watch the passing parade

Tibidabo

Nearest Station: Funicular del Tibidabo / Bus: 17
Neighbourhood: Sarrià, Sant Gervasi & Tibidabo

You start by taking the subway (actually the Renfe's Tibidabo local train) to the last stop, Avinguda Tibidabo (for example, from Placa Catalunya). From there, take the Tramvia Blau, which is an old streetcar, up Av. Tibidabo. Buy a return ticket if you don't plan on walking back--it is cheaper.
