Berlin

Berlin is the capital city of Germany which supports a population of nearly 3.4 million. The city is located in Eastern Germany. Several places in Berlin which attracts tourists include:-Mitte, Charlottenburg, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg, Schöneberg, Zehlendorf.
Berlin is one of the richest city in Germany with a vast cultural heritage and splendid nightlife.

Berlin has a temperate climate. Berlin is the home of many major radio stations as well as television centres.Berlin is also known for the opportunities it can provide to students. Berlin has a splendid nightlife and one of the most diverse one in whole Europe. Berlin also beholds a lot of beautiful 153 museums which supports a finest range of artworks. To add to all this are Berlins Theatres which are nearly 50 in numbers.

There are seven symphony orchestras in Berlin. The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra of Berlin is one of the prominent orchestras in the world.It is housed in the Berliner Philharmonie near Potsdamer Platz on a street named for the orchestra's longest-serving conductor, Herbert von Karajan.

Berlin hosted the 1936 Olympics and was the host city for the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final.

Reichstag
This is the seat of German parliament and a historical monument in Berlin. The central dome attracts eyes of many tourists.

Brandenburger Gate

This is situated right on the border between east and West Berlin at Pariser Platz. This has become a symbol of reunified Berlin. This beautiful gate was designed by Carl Gotthard. The gate was constructed between 1778 and 1791. The Brandenburg Gate has twelve columns built in the Doric order of architecture, six on each side.
This gate is a trademark of Berlin and is best of its kind in the whole world and famous for its beauty.

Schloss Charlottenburg

The Charlottenburg palace is the largest palace in Berlin. It was built in several stages. The park behind Schloss Charlottenburg was originally laid out in French Baroque style. In the 18th and 19th century, the park was converted into a landscape garden.
Great Orangery was constructed on the western wing, while a domed tower with tambour crowned the main building. Knobelsdorff constructed the eastern wing from 1740-46. From 1787-91, Carl Langhans constructed the palace theatre as an extension to the orangery wing.

Museum Island

The five museums that comprise Berlin's famous Museum Island are located between the Spree River and the Kupfergraben. Berlin's world-famous Museum Island lies between the River Spree and Kupfergraben. The buildings on the island accommodate the archaeological collections and art of the 19th century. Development of the building complex began with the Altes Museum which was designed by Schinkel. It was in this building that King Frederick William III made art treasures accessible to the public for the first time in 1830.
