Spain
The country, officially the Kingdom of
Spain, is located in Southern Europe, with three exclaves in North
Africa. The Spanish mainland is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea,
Atlantic Ocean, the Bay of Biscay from different sides. The coutry
shares land borders with Portugal, France, Andorra, Gibraltar, and
Morocco. It is a developed country and is the eighth-largest economy
in the world.
Spain is a constitutional monarchy, with
a hereditary monarch and a bicameral parliament, the Cortes Generales.
It is divided into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities.
The country has many things to offer to it's tourists.
GEOGRAPHY
Expanding over an area of 504,782 km², Spain is the world's
51st-largest country, with a population of 45 million. Mainland
Spain is dominated by high plateaus and mountain ranges. Alluvial
plains are found along the coast. The climate is extremely diverse,
due to it's geographical situation and orographic conditions. the
climate is extremely diverse.
CULTURE
The country is known for its culturally diverse heritage. The Spanish
culture has roots in Celtiberian, Latin, Visigothic, Roman Catholicism,
Islam, numerous regions and minority peoples. State Education is
free and is compulsory from 6 to 16 years. The current education
system is called LOGSE. Spanish art is an important type of art
in Europe. Spanish literature is also very diverse. Spanish cinema
has achieved high marks of recognition because of its creative and
technical excellence. Spanish cuisine consists of a great variety
of dishes which stem from differences in geography, culture and
climate. Sport in Spain has been traditionally dominated by football,
cycling and bullfighting. Spain is a major world sports power.
