It is the capital of the Spanish autonomous community of Valencia
and its province. It is the third largest city in Spain and an industrial
area on the Costa del Azahar in Spain.
Valencia has a Mediterranean climate,
with warm dry summers and mild winters.
Valencia has enjoyed strong economic growth
over the last decade, much of it spurred by tourism and the construction
industry.
Valencia is known for Las Fallas, which
is a famous local festival held in March, for paella valenciana,
traditional Valencian ceramics, intricate traditional dress, and
the striking new architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences designed
by its own son, architect Santiago Calatrava.
